I have no complaints on Rainbow Rowell’s writing nor about the characters. But I do have complaints about the story and the pace. I had expected a totally different kind of a novel after reading her book ‘Attachments’ which was fast paced, different, funny but Fangirl was neither. It was a serious YA kinda stuff for which I was not prepared. Perhaps that’s the reason I did not like as much as I thought I would. Cath, yes I could relate to her a bit but not completely may be because I am not a fangirl myself of any ongoing fictional character.

Another thing which irked me was the Simon Snow story which kept on coming in-between the main story which was totally unnecessary according to me. Apart from the ‘fangirl obsession’ part the story had nothing new to offer and the pace was too sluggish. But anyhow I could at least complete this book without much difficulty.
