I loved this book so much. I guess the timing was perfect when I picked this up. ‘The Lake’ is about Chihiro and Nakajima and their grieve which bring them together may be for the lifetime to stay put with each other. This book was slow but I loved the pace as it gave me more time to enjoy Yoshimoto's writing.
There is some strange philosophical pull in Japanese authors which I love. When it comes to their book story doesn't matter much what matters is the writing and their strange philosophical thoughts which connects me in a weird way and i end up loving the book. The same thing happened to me in here as well. I loved Chihiro and Naka's relationship how it started and how they bond with each other.
It all seemed so dreamlike yet real.
